OK. This was probably the weirdest challenge on the entire list, especially to those of whom might not know me. For as long as I can remember I have been physically repulsed by eggs.
I won’t go so far as to say it’s ovaphobia (I just looked that up and there is a genuine definition for fear of eggs) but it can result in severe discomfort, and this discomfort has been the source of amusement for many people for many years, particularly my egg loving friend Jonathan.
So he set me the interesting challenge to “catch a squirrel or eat a boiled egg”. I was NOT going to be eating a boiled egg, so it has been my mission since then to “catch” a squirrel. That being said, I raised some concerns with the challenge setter (mainly those of animal cruelty and the risk of getting tetanus) it was agreed that I simply had to get the squirrel to eat out of my hand. And on Saturday (after being kind of pooed on by a bird – but that’s another story) I fed a very inquisitive little squirrel off the palm of my hand.
It’s pretty short and sweet, because as soon as he got hold of the food, he did a runner and I wasn’t so keen to stick around with vermin poking around my hand so we considered the challenge complete. It’s now been approved by the challenge setter, so I will most definitely NOT be eating a boiled egg any time soon.
*nb – I know this isn’t a proper video blog, life got in the way a bit this week, but I’ll make sure to get one up tomorrow. Normal service will resume next week!
